Our Warranty
Chalk’s Truck Parts stands behind the quality of our rebuilt units. Our limited warranty covers defects in components or workmanship for the applicable warranty period. Warranty coverage is determined after inspection by Chalk’s Truck Parts to verify that the cause of failure qualifies under the terms of our warranty.
Warranty Periods
Warranty periods vary by unit type. Manual transmissions and differentials are covered for 12 months, automatic transmissions for 24 months, transfer cases for 6 months, and off-highway units for 6 months. Steering gear warranty periods vary based on product type. Please contact Chalk’s Truck Parts for the warranty terms applicable to your specific steering gear. Coverage begins on the date of sale.
What’s Covered
Chalk’s Limited Warranty covers failures determined, upon inspection, to have resulted from defects in components or workmanship. Warranty coverage applies only when Chalk’s Truck Parts determines that the cause of the failure qualifies under the terms of the warranty.
What’s Not Covered
Our warranty does not cover failures or damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidents, neglect, misuse or abuse, improper installation, improper lubrication or maintenance, improper application, or problems caused by improperly installed, worn, damaged, or failed attached components such as driveshafts, yokes, or power takeoffs (PTOs).
If You Have a Problem
If you experience a suspected warranty failure, contact Chalk’s Truck Parts before any work, repair, disassembly, or modification is performed on the unit. The unit must be returned to Chalk’s, freight prepaid, for inspection. Do not authorize or perform repairs before receiving prior authorization from Chalk’s.
Inspection & Determination
A unit failure during the warranty period does not automatically qualify for warranty coverage. Chalk’s Truck Parts must inspect and evaluate the unit to determine the cause of failure. Warranty coverage applies only when Chalk’s determines that the failure resulted from a warrantable defect in components or workmanship.
If Your Claim Is Covered
If Chalk’s determines after inspection that the failure is covered under the warranty, the failed unit will be replaced with another rebuilt unit. Chalk’s will reimburse freight charges incurred in returning the warranted unit, and eligible removal and installation labor will be reimbursed up to the predetermined limit established by Chalk’s for that type of unit.
Important Warranty Requirements
Each rebuilt unit must remain identifiable by its serial number, metal tag, stamp, or applicable Chalk’s invoice. Identification tags must not be removed. Warranty coverage is void if repairs, disassembly, modifications, or other work are performed without prior authorization from Chalk’s. The warranty does not cover lost business, loss of use, downtime, towing charges, lost revenue, or other incidental or consequential costs.
